When you share files, you should control exactly how long they're available, who can access them, and what the experience looks like. SecureEU now gives you custom expiry periods, instant link revocation, branded download pages, and compliance certificates — all without compromising our zero-knowledge encryption.
Custom Link Expiry: 1 to 30 Days
Previously, every transfer expired after 7 days. Now you choose exactly how long your download link stays active:

Free transfers (≤ 5 GB) get up to a 7-day link. Paid transfers can choose up to 30 days.
This is useful when you need a link to stay active for a longer project, or conversely, when you want a file to disappear within 24 hours for maximum security. You choose the expiry before upload, and it's locked in — the transfer is automatically deleted when it expires.
Instant Link Revocation
What if you shared a link but changed your mind? Maybe you sent the wrong file, or the recipient no longer needs access. With link revocation, you can disable any download link immediately — one click and it's done.
- The revoke button appears on your transfer success screen
- Once revoked, the download page shows a clear "this link has been revoked" message
- The recipient cannot download or decrypt the files — revocation is enforced server-side
- Revocation is instant and irreversible
This gives you true control over shared data. Even if a link has been forwarded to unintended recipients, you can cut off access immediately — something most file-sharing services don't offer at all.
Branded Download Pages
When your client or partner opens a download link, the page can now show your brand instead of a generic SecureEU layout. After uploading, you can set:
- Brand logo — provide a URL to your logo and it appears prominently on the download page
- Brand accent colour — pick a hex colour that tints the download page to match your identity
- Sender message — add a personal note that your recipient sees before downloading
This is perfect for agencies, consultancies, and businesses who want a professional file-delivery experience without building their own infrastructure. Your recipients see your brand, not ours.
Compliance Certificate
For regulated industries, we now generate a downloadable compliance certificate for every transfer. The certificate includes:
- Batch ID and unique transfer identifier
- Number of files transferred
- Encryption method (AES-256-GCM) and architecture (zero-knowledge)
- Data residency (EU — Hetzner, Helsinki, Finland)
- Timestamp of transfer creation and expiry date
This certificate is invaluable for GDPR audits, legal compliance, and internal record-keeping. It proves that a specific file transfer was encrypted end-to-end, stored exclusively in the EU, and handled with zero-knowledge architecture — all in a single downloadable document.
Download Counter & Notifications
Every transfer now tracks how many times your files have been downloaded, visible on the download page. Combined with download notifications (opt in with your email), you always know when a recipient has accessed your files. This is especially useful for time-sensitive deliveries where you need confirmation.
